Data plays a central role in how we measure outcomes, ensure accountability, and drive informed decisions across our global network.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>The Role<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>They are looking for an experienced and values-driven <strong>Data Governance Lead<\/strong> to shape and oversee our organisation-wide data governance framework. Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead a small, high-performing team and work collaboratively with colleagues across programmes, fundraising, operations, and technology.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>This is an exciting opportunity to build strong governance practices that enable safe, ethical, and effective use of data across an international charity environment.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop and implement a clear data governance strategy aligned with organisational goals<\/li>\n<li>Lead and mentor a small data governance team, fostering collaboration and continuous improvement<\/li>\n<li>Establish data policies, standards, and procedures to improve data quality, consistency, and accessibility<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with relevant data protection and privacy regulations across multiple regions<\/li>\n<li>Act as the organisation&#8217;s subject matter expert on data governance and stewardship<\/li>\n<li>Partner with stakeholders to promote data literacy and a data-driven culture<\/li>\n<li>Oversee data ownership models, metadata management, and data lifecycle practices<\/li>\n<li>Identify and mitigate data-related risks<\/li>\n<li>Support ethical and responsible use of data in programme delivery and reporting<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>About You<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You are a strategic thinker with strong leadership skills and a passion for using data responsibly to support meaningful impact.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p><strong>Essential experience and skills:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Proven experience in data governance, data management, or information governance roles<\/li>\n<li>Experience leading or mentoring a small team<\/li>\n<li>Strong understanding of data protection and privacy principles (e.g., GDPR and global equivalents)<\/li>\n<li>Ability to translate technical concepts into clear, practical guidance for non-technical stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills<\/li>\n<li>Experience developing policies, frameworks, and governance models<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Desirable:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Experience working in the charity, NGO, or international development sector<\/li>\n<li>Familiarity with cloud-based data environments and modern data platforms<\/li>\n<li>Knowledge of data quality, master data management, or data
